Biomimicry and Design
Up to 6 CEUs/academic credits available for educators
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Veracruz State while learning about biomimicry with peers from all over the world.
Biomimicry is the practice of developing sustainable technologies inspired by ideas from nature. Examples of biomimicry that are changing our world today include highly efficient fans inspired by the way kelp moves in water, soil restoration solutions inspired by cushion plants, and CO2-sequestering cement production inspired by corals. While humans have a long way to go towards living sustainably on this planet, millions of species—with millions of years of field testing—contain technological strategies to help us succeed in our all-important quest to become a species that fits in well on a diverse planet.
Who should attend?
